face-to-face reading
sendai mediatheque provides face-to-face reading service for persons who have difficulty reading materials on their own. the service is available free of charge.
reading volunteers read materials of your choice, such as books and magazines in the library, books you have brought in, and instruction manuals for home electrical appliances.

available time and day
- between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on monday and friday each week
- reservations unnecessary
- those who prefer other days or times are requested to make a reservation by phone, fax, or e-mail.
how to use the services
please apply to the inquiries for the sight- and hearing- impaired on the 2nd floor. simple materials will be read on the sofa in the reading area. reading will also be done in the group reading room in the the 2nd-floor children's book area, if requested.
you can search and read materials of your interest by genre and author's name. please feel free to consult with us.
