project tube5 vol.0 "taxi/draw"

media art exhibition in the motif of a taxi which is a symbol of scenery of sendai city.
there are 13 independent steel-ribbed shafts in the mediatheque. we will present a series of projects utilizing areas around the no.5 tube, which are located on the south east side on the 7th floor. for the first time, collaborating artists in the fields of architecture and media will exhibit the works visualizing invisible urban information.

architectural and urban design graduation championship series - sendai design league 2008

graduation designs collected from all parts of the country by students who wish to work in architectural or urban design, co-hosted by the sendai student network of architecture and urbanism. competent designs will be judged by prominent architects, such as toyo ito, who designed mediatheque.

smt monthly screening series for march

films from atg (art theatre guild) will be screened. atg is the organization that produced independent films, art films, and important directors in the japanese film scene from the 1960s to 90s.

intercommunity and partnership of design

by inviting professional guests who do creative activities utilizing information technology and media, we will present a session thinking about the possibilities and usage of the studio which will work as a "place of creation" on the 7th floor of the mediatheque. the session on mar. 1 will be held at a different place.
